It's time for the 2025 Ohio State Fair, and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) will have a booth in the air-conditioned Bricker Marketplace building located near the fair entrance off 17th Avenue. From 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, through Sunday, August 3, 2025, OHFA staff will be available to answer any questions fairgoers may have about what OHFA does, its homeownership programs, and the Ohio Housing Locator.
OHFA will be sharing tools for checking your credit scores, making a budget, and leveraging down payment assistance. Our staff will answer your questions about how OHFA supports affordable housing in our state and how you can use our programs as part of your homeownership journey!
The Down Payment Assistance program provides homebuyers either 3% for conventional loans or 3.5% for government loans of a home's purchase price to be applied toward the down payment, closing costs, or other pre-closing expenses. The Ohio Heroes program provides Ohio veterans, active-duty military members, members of reserve components, police officers, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, doctors, nurses (RNs, LPNs, and STNAs), and pre-K through 12th grade teachers, administrators, and counselors with a discounted mortgage interest rate.
